SEND Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)
Location: Primary School near Castleford
Start Date: After October Half-Term
Full-Time, Long-Term, Temporary Position
Pay: From £96 per day (dependent on experience)
PK Education is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term temporary position at a primary school near Castleford. The role will involve providing 1:1 support to a Reception pupil who is awaiting an ASD diagnosis and an EHCP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the pupil outside of the mainstream classroom, delivering tailored support to meet their specific learning and developmental needs.
- Develop and implement engaging activities to support their educational progress, emotional well-being, and social development.
- Assist with managing the pupil’s behaviour and emotional regulation in a patient and nurturing manner.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other professionals to create an inclusive learning plan for the child.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is desirable.
- A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to helping children reach their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.
