SEN Teacher - Key Stage 3

Salary £31,350 - £42,689
I am working with a small SEMH school seeking a KS3 teacher to join with them.
The successful candidate will lead small-group and 1:1 sessions, working closely with pupils who may require extra emotional and academic support to reintegrate into full-time classroom learning. You will play a crucial role in helping students build self-esteem, social skills, and resilience, fostering a positive attitude towards learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver tailored lessons in line with the nurture curriculum, adapting teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students
* Develop and implement personalised learning plans, with a strong focus on emotional wellbeing and academic progress
* Work closely with the pastoral team, SENCo, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to each pupil’s education and care
* Create a supportive, calm, and structured environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and able to express themselves
* Monitor and assess progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff
Qualifications & Skills Required:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably within a nurture setting or similar
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
* Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning
