Days & Hours: Permanent hours as follows:
Week 1: 9 hrs a week
- Sunday 08.00-17.00
Week 2: 9 hrs a week
- Sunday 13.00-22.00
Bank hours are available.This is a large care team and there are always bank hours available for people to cover annual leave and sickness. The hours willvary from week to week. There may be weeks when full time hours are available, shift times range from 3 hours to 10+ hours and can include days and sleeping nights. However, you are able to work just days, just nights or a combination of both.
Pay:
- £13.00 per hour Monday to Friday, Days, 8.00am to 8.00pm
- £14.11 per hour Monday to Friday, Waking Nights, 8.00pm to 8.00am
- £14.11 per hour Weekends, Days, 8.00am to 8.00pm
- £15.24 per hour Weekends, Waking Nights, 8.00pm to 8.00am
- £National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage per hour (dependent on the successful candidate's age), Monday to Sunday, Sleeping Nights, 10.00pm to 7.00am
Driver required? Desirable
Accommodation (while on duty):Own room with toilet and tea making facilities for sleeping night shifts.
Pets:The family have 2 small dogs who live in the main part of the house (away from where care will take place)

Verityis in her mid 40's and has an acquired brain injury. She lives in her own home and has a team of Support Workers who provide 24-hour care. is looking for new people to join her team and is very excited about meeting new people who can support her with her daily needs.
As part of her 24 hour care regime, Verity receivessupportwith all aspects ofcare, including hoisting for alltransfers, personal care, PEG feeding,catheter care,pressure care,suctioning and respiratory care.Veritydoes not need new team members to have experience in these areas of care, as training will be provided and she will guide new people, along with support from her current support workers who know her very well. She does, however, require that new members to her support team are willing and able to learn the care skills needed to meet her needs.
In addition to providing personal care, Verity is supported to engage in socialactivities at home such as doing quizzes, watching television and films She also likesgoing out to the cinema, theatre or shopping,and very importantly, loves planning for Christmas and birthdays! She has her own wheelchair accessible vehicle which she uses to go out in.
Verity cannot communicate verbally but can make her needs and wishes known through non verbal communication, body movements and facialexpressions.She has a great sense of humour! The successful candidate will quickly learn if Verity is happy or not! However, sherelies onher family and Support Workersto learn andinterpret her body language and facial expressionsin orderto identify and address her needs. She is registered blind and her care teamexplaineverything to her,including describing her environment, new people, and even what is happening on the televisionwhatever programme is on She enjoys soap dramas but also a range of other programmes (which sometimes includes Naked Attraction!)
Verityrequires assistance and/or supervision at all times during the day and also has care input overnight. Overnight care is provided by way of one waking night Support Worker and one sleeping night Support Worker..
The sleeping night Support Worker has a separate suite next to Veritys room which has a bed, toilet and kettle. The sleeping night Support Worker will only be woken if the waking night Support Worker requires assistance (such as for repositioning and changing clothes).
Working with Verity involves the need to provide assistance with moving and handling,includingusing hoisting equipment. It is important that all of her care team can manage physical tasks during each shift with her. Training will be provided to ensure the safety of Verity and her support team. The most important consideration is that Support Workers must have a dedication to always providing the best possible care.
