Reports to: GM- Head of sales & Marketing
Job Overview:
The Senior Sales Manager at Haberdashers Hall will play a key role in driving revenue growth, managing relationships with high-profile clients, and leading sales strategies for one of Londons prestigious livery halls. The role focuses on selling a variety of event spaces, including corporate events, private dinners, weddings, and charity functions. You will be expected to take a proactive approach to business development, provide excellent customer service, and lead the sales team to achieve revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to meet revenue targets and drive business growth across all event types.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities by networking, attending industry events, and building long-term relationships with corporate, private, and charity clients.
Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activity, and industry conditions to ensure the sales strategy remains effective and competitive.
2. Client Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile clients, ensuring a smooth and professional experience from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up.
Build and maintain strong relationships with repeat clients, sponsors, and key stakeholders, fostering loyalty and ensuring long-term partnerships.
Lead contract negotiations and ensure timely, professional communication with clients.
3. Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and manage the sales team, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure they meet and exceed targets.
Work closely with event managers and the marketing team to ensure alignment between sales efforts, promotional campaigns, and the venues operational capabilities.
Offer ongoing mentoring and development opportunities for junior team members to support their growth.
4. Business Development:
Actively prospect for new business through networking, digital channels, partnerships, and cold calls.
Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to promote Haberdashers Hall as a premier event venue.
Develop tailored proposals, presentations, and marketing materials to engage potential clients effectively.
5. Revenue Management & Reporting:
Track and report on sales performance, measuring success against key metrics and revenue forecasts.
Prepare regular reports for senior management, outlining sales activities, business wins, and areas for improvement.
Oversee budget management for the sales department, ensuring effective use of resources to maximise return on investment.
6. Collaboration with Operations:
Liaise with the operations and event delivery teams to ensure smooth execution of events and exceptional client satisfaction.
Provide thorough handovers on client requirements to the operations team, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in sales management, ideally within the hospitality or events sector.
Experience working with premium venues or within a livery hall is highly advantageous.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proven ability to close deals.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
A strategic thinker with the ability to plan for long-term growth and business development.
Proficient in CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
A well-established network within the events, hospitality, or corporate sectors is a strong advantage.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple clients, and meet deadlines.
