Mechanical Project Engineer - Major Residential Development
Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team for an exciting £15m mechanical installation project. This high-profile development comprises three new-build residential towers and an energy centre, offering a unique opportunity to work on a large-scale, complex project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all mechanical aspects of this major project from handover to final account
- Oversee the intricate mechanical systems for the residential towers and energy centre
- Liaise with Project Manager and multidisciplinary team members
- Procure and manage mechanical plant/equipment and sub-contracts
- Ensure technical compliance and high-quality installation across the entire project
- Coordinate with electrical engineering for seamless M&E integration
- Manage commissioning processes and specialists for both residential and energy centre systems
- Assist in financial aspects including variations and cost reviews for this £15M project
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices, particularly in large-scale residential and energy centre projects
- Proven experience in project management within the construction industry, ideally with multi-tower developments
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to manage complex stakeholder relationships
- Advanced ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for high-rise buildings and energy systems
- Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations in construction, especially for large residential projects
