About the Department
Trade Product Management (Transaction Banking) - Trade Finance is responsible for developing new products and/or solutions, ensuring the competitiveness of existing products. Strengthens the sales effort by working with Sales and Marketing to define competitive market requirements and identify opportunities, manage profit and loss, or risk control. The Product Management area is responsible for managing current products and ensuring they meet client needs. Reviews and develops new product lines, which involves coordination with stakeholders such as Legal, Tax, Trade Operations, etc. , in addition to close involvement with the business line. Responsible for product life-cycle management.
Transaction Banking covers activities related to treasury and cash management, and trade financing for governments and corporates. Services include financing activities that facilitate cross-border trade, cash transfer, and the maintenance and processing of payables and receivables.
The Trade Finance focus specializes in assisting with business' cash flow and reducing risk in foreign markets by offering solutions for working capital. This effort can be sustained by letters of credit and documentary collections for both importers and exporters.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Group Documentary Trade Team Lead, the position will be responsible for the management, planning and development of Documentary Trade products for Transaction Banking customers. As part of the Group Product Management team, the position will be responsible for coordinating group and country trade product program requirements, as well as participate in requirement specifications and rollout of global products. The position will also be responsible for the end-to-end management of any approved group and/or country trade finance programs assigned.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage Documentary Trade Product P&L and business drivers (i.e. assets levels, contingent liabilities, transaction volumes, revenue/cost ratios, cost of credit, etc.) to achieve product profitability and revenue growth
- Manage and drive campaign / initiative KPI and commercialization with stakeholders.
- Strong PowerPoint preparation and presentation; as well as Excel analytic and communication skills to resolve issues / feedback relating to Documentary Trade products.
- Develop standard product pricing policies. Ensure that all product solutions are aligned with regulatory requirements. Maintain product approval, programs, circulars and memorandums
- Prioritize, drive & execute product initiatives and one-off programs, with joint ownership by customer support, to promote adoption by customers.
- Monitor importers' and exporters' evolving banking needs and package core services to meet those needs. Perform customer needs analysis and define product solutions / capabilities. Perform competitive analysis and market sizing. Perform regular product/market analysis. Validate new product ideas in market place
- Design standard sales kits, printed brochures and other relevant sales tools for sales team. Create product awareness and conduct training programs for sales and customer support. Provide product expertise support during sales road shows and customer focus group discussions
- Understand, manage and analyze trade, SWIFT and industry data for management reporting as well as to generate potential sales leads (data mining)
- Develop and promote new product capabilities which improve operational efficiencies, reduce operational risks, provide new revenue streams, enhance UOB's reputation in the Transaction Banking space
- Manage and drive digitalization using Bank proprietary system and/or industry-led platform
- At least 10 years of working experience in trade finance product management, especially for Asia.
- Strong trade finance technical and operation experiences, will be a plus.
- Possess strong in-depth knowledge of trade concepts, regulations, product program and international practices.
- Strong writing, presentation and communication skills with good spoken and written English
- Highly motivated self-starter with strong analytical, interpersonal, negotiation, willing to learn and organization skills
