We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Practice Assistant for our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, from intake through trial. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further their career in the legal industry, working closely with a team of skilled attorneys and paralegals to help our clients achieve their goals.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Practice Assistant, you will play a critical role in our team. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
2. Managing calendars, tracking litigation deadlines, and ensuring all deadlines are met in a timely manner; eFiling in Chancery and Superior Courts
3. Assisting attorneys with time entry, billing, and expense reports.
4. Coordinating and scheduling meetings, depositions, hearings, and trials.
5. Maintaining organized and up-to-date case files.
6. Conducting legal research and preparing reports as directed by attorneys.
7. Acting as a liaison between attorneys, clients, experts, witnesses, and other parties.
8. Providing general administrative support to the legal team, including answering phones, filing, copying, and scanning documents.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Senior Practice Assistant position, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably in litigation.
2. Proficiency in drafting and formatting litigation documents.
3. Strong experience with calendaring litigation deadlines and managing attorney schedules.
4. Experience with attorney time entry and billing procedures.
5. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
9. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
10. Paralegal certification or equivalent legal education is a plus.
