Chef - Sherbourne Lodge - Cambridge
Reports to: Deputy Service Manager or Registered Manager
About the Role:
We seek a dedicated and compassionate Chef to join our care friendly elderly residential
home team. The Chef will be responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals
tailored to the dietary needs of our residents, ensuring all meals are delicious and meet
health and safety standards. The ideal candidate should have experience in meal planning,
cooking for special diets, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen
Key Responsibilities:
• Willing to work alternative weekends and Bank holidays.
• Prepare nutritious meals that cater to residents' dietary needs (e.g., low-sodium,
diabetic-friendly, soft foods)
• Plan menus 4 weeks in advance with input from care staff to meet residents' health
and nutritional requirements
• Ensure food is prepared in a safe, hygienic environment, adhering to food safety
regulations
• Manage kitchen inventory and order supplies as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas
• Prepare events for the residents and family gatherings
• Assist in serving meals and ensuring a positive dining experience for residents
Qualifications:
• Experience as a Chef, ideally in a care home or healthcare setting
• Knowledge of special diets and nutrition for elderly or medically vulnerable
individuals
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with care staff
• Food hygiene and safety certification preferred

Requirements:
