The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Electromechanical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team at our concrete products factory in Leighton Buzzard. You will contribute to cutting-edge projects and play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and testing electromechanical systems. This role is perfect for a creative problem-solver with a passion for engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Adhere to Aggregate Industries Health and Safety requirements, and actively
contribute towards a ‘zero harm’ culture in the workplace. To gain a full working knowledge of the block making process, plant and
equipment.
To be actively involved in all aspects of plant maintenance including:
➢ Breakdown maintenance (electrical and mechanical)
➢ Ensure that statutory and Aggregate industries maintenance checks
(electrical and mechanical) are carried out according to the specified
schedules
➢ Working in conjunction with the production manager, site electrical /
mechanical personnel and production crews to bring about continuous
productivity improvements activities across the factories.
➢ Time served electrical engineering apprenticeship (engineering training
authority)
➢ City and Guilds 2382 qualified
➢ Functional safety/Safety related control systems for machinery
➢ Ability to work well on own or part of a team
➢ Motor control/VFD/DC Drives. Weighing equipment (load cells etc)
➢ PLC experience, Fault finding and programming. Robot experience Fault finding
➢ Flexible approach to working hours. IT Skills
Who You Are
The multi-skilled electro/mechanical engineer must be a time served apprentice (or
equivalent) and be qualified to:
➢ City & Guilds, B Tech, NVQ L3 or equivalent in plant maintenance.
➢ Mechanically competent in; Metal Fabrication, Welding (arc & gas), Machine
Shop Skills, Abrasive Wheels, Hydraulics, Pneumatics
➢ Electrically competent in; process control and automation ideally Allen
Bradley and Siemens S7 equipment).
➢ Have comprehensive knowledge of conditional and preventative maintenance
systems.
Ideal but non essential qualifications include:
➢ Inspection & Testing, AM2 Test,
➢ 18th Edition wiring regulations
➢ Fork Lift Truck licence (NVQ/EPIC/CITB)
➢ MEWP licence.
