Support Worker
Daisy Nook Recruitment is proud to be working alongside a privately run residential home for children (8-17 years old), with homes based in Liverpool and Sheffield. They have homes for children with EBD and learning difficulties. Our client is looking for Support Workers for their home in Sheffield.
The hourly rate is between £11.50-£12.50. It is a 35 hour week on a shift basis, weekend work and waking nights are required. Overtime is available.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Support Worker
To work with children and young people according to the individuals needs, providing focussed work as planned and directed.
To assist in the co-ordination of activities within the Unit and ensure that they are well managed and produce safe and consistent care.
To be involved in and organise activities which are in the best interests and meet the needs of those looked after.
Training & Development.
Administration and report writing.
Ensure security of the House, including contents, confidential records, cash, keys, furniture and equipment, residents’ clothing and possessions.
To assist the Manager in attending to the health of the children, arranging medical and dental examinations, and maintaining high standards of hygiene within the home.
Participate in training courses as arranged and undertake professional training if the opportunity is offered though secondment.
Observe confidentiality at all times in relation to the Home and its residents, recognising the vulnerability of the residents.
Must have:
Qualifications and Experience Qualified to NVQ Level 3
Knowledge of child care legislation & regulations Human growth and development
Assessment & care planning process Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Fire Regulations
Basis understanding of Children's Rights
Experience of working with children with learning difficulties
