Job Description
My client is a well established firm based in Melton Mowbray
They are now seeking a highly creative and skilled Knitwear Designer to join them on a full time, permanent position
Main Responsibilities:
* Create innovative knitwear designs based on seasonal trends, market demands, and client briefs.
* Research and analyse fashion trends, yarns, textures, colours, and patterns to inspire new collections.
* Develop mood boards, sketches, and technical drawings that effectively communicate design concepts.
* Source appropriate yarns, trims, and embellishments for each design
* Develop detailed technical specifications for all designs, including knit structure, yarn composition, and sizing.
* Work with technical teams to ensure garment construction, fit, and finishes meet industry standards and brand expectations.
Person Specifications:
• Creative thinker with an eye for detail.
• Previous knitwear design experience
• Strong understanding of garment construction, knitwear techniques, and yarn properties.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other CAD programs.
• Strong knowledge of the fashion market and current knitwear trends.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
