Job Description
Now Education are working in partnership with Rochdale Borough Council who are seeking an interim Strategic Lead for Inclusion and AP to join their talented team in a newly created role within Rochdale Local Authority.
This is a unique chance to influence and develop inclusive practice across the local area.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing inclusive practice, reducing exclusions and supporting vulnerable cohorts to access Alternative Provision within schools and beyond.
Your expertise in the SEND Code of Practice, Alternative Provision, and the Area SEND Inspection Framework will be vital.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and a child-centred approach along with experience of working closely with Headteachers and the education sector.
This challenging yet highly rewarding role is initially available for the Autumn term 2024, with the strong possibility of extension into 2025.

The successful candidate will need to:
Demonstrate experience in working in schools and/or the LA to removing barriers to learning for vulnerable children and/or young people.
Detail your proven, successful experience of management.
Show how the professional development they have undertaken in the last three years is relevant to this post
Give examples of how you have worked successfully in schools to support children and young people
Show how have you implemented policy and systems and what has been the impact on vulnerable children and young people?
Be in possession of a Level 6 qualification or above (or equivalent).
The successful candidate will be passionate about inclusion and removing barriers for children and young people.
You will have a comprehensive knowledge of issues and legislation in relation to schools, inclusion and current developments in children’s services and be able to demonstrate strong, effective, high standards of management and coordination in your roles to date.
