Job Description
PE Teacher with BTEC Specialism – Join an SEMH School Family in Leyton!
Do you have a passion for physical education and a heart for helping students who need it most? We’re looking for a vibrant and dynamic PE Teacher to bring energy and inspiration to a small group of Year 10 students in our SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) School in Leyton. If you’re someone who thrives on building meaningful connections with students while delivering high-quality BTEC PE lessons, we want to meet you!
What You’ll Do:
* Teach BTEC PE to Year 10 students with SEMH needs, helping them gain qualifications while boosting their confidence and self-esteem.
* Work with small class sizes of up to 8 students, giving you the chance to truly connect with each individual and make a lasting impact.
* Use your strong classroom management skills to foster a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment where students can thrive.
* Engage students with exciting, hands-on physical education activities while being their motivator and cheerleader!
What We’re Looking For:
* Passion & Purpose: You live and breathe PE, and you’re passionate about empowering students who may have faced significant challenges in their education.
* BTEC Expertise: You have experience delivering BTEC PE (and if you love teaching it, even better!). Whether you’re qualified or unqualified, what matters is your experience, energy, and dedication.
* Strong Classroom Management: You know how to navigate behaviour challenges with confidence, calmness, and creativity. You’re a master at keeping students engaged, focused, and ready to learn.
* Heart for SEMH: Experience working with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or similar behavioural challenges is a huge plus. You understand that your role isn’t just about education—it’s about empathy and connection.
Why This Role is for You:
* Make a Difference Every Day: You’ll be working with students who may have been let down by the traditional school system—your role is to inspire them, build their confidence, and show them that success is within reach.
* Be Part of a Family: This isn’t just a job, it’s joining a supportive and compassionate school community where everyone works together to help students succeed. You’ll be surrounded by dedicated professionals who are passionate about changing lives.
* Small Classes, Big Impact: With classes of only up to 8 students, you’ll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with each student and tailor your approach to meet their unique needs.
* Full-Time, Immediate Start: This is a full-time role (5 days a week), starting ASAP and running until July—plenty of time to make your mark!
