Learning Support Assistant in Special Needs School
Team Educate is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to provide high-quality support in a vibrant, independent school in South Bristol, catering to students with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and extreme anxiety. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and succeed in their education.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students in small group or 1:1 settings, ensuring engagement, safety, and well-being both during lessons and break times. You will provide academic support in class, promote positive behaviour, and contribute effectively to the team, with the students’ progress and welfare as the central focus.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting students with complex and varied needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, extreme anxiety and educational trauma
* Encouraging participation and maintaining safety during lessons and activities
* Promoting positive mindsets, behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment
* Collaborating with staff during morning and afternoon briefings to stay informed on student progress, well-being, and daily activities
* Being adaptable and flexible to meet students’ needs throughout the school day
School Environment:

* A dedicated occupational therapy area
* A kitchen for practical cooking classes
* BTEC courses for Year 11 students in PE and Leadership

Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate will:

* Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to the varying needs of the students
* Demonstrate a passion for supporting young people, particularly those with special educational needs
* Have experience working with children of SEMH/ASD/ADHD etc
* A positive, can-do attitude
Working Hours:
* Monday to Friday, 8:10 AM – 4:15 PM, including morning and afternoon briefings
