Job Description

A new opportunity has become available for a qualified National Account Manager to join our high functioning team!

As a global organisation and working across the country we are open to have this position based in Perth or Sydney.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Account Management Australia and working closely with the commercial team, you will manage and maximise opportunities to drive revenue and profit growth, across the Avis Budget Commercial/Corporate business.

As National Account Manager you will engage mainly with businesses with accounts above $500,000 and will have a detailed understanding of the functionality and purpose of the Avis Budget Car/Commercial fleet in order to maximise our opportunities within the large accounts.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Prepare and meet an annual portfolio business plan that supports the company’s strategic objectives.

  • Identify, prospect and develop new and existing opportunities within the Australian market to increase revenue for this sector to meet sales targets.

  • Identify, develop and manage key relationships to increase Avis Budget’s profile in the corporate / commercial vehicle market.

  • Manage relationships with new and allocated existing customers to meet or exceed sales targets and achieve profitable growth from travel markets for Avis Budget.

  • Work with Account Managers within the Sales department on any car/commercial accounts within their portfolios.

  • Be totally familiar with the rate structure and participate on any decisions on rate changes as well as implement and negotiate any required changes with customers.

  • Deal with any customer complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner via our Sales Support unit.

  • Report monthly against targets set, commenting on variances, problems, opportunities, competitor activity and items of industry interest.

  • Work with branch managers and company trainers to ensure that customer service levels meet or exceed company standards for this sector.

  • Proactively identify trends in the car/commercial sector, and possible opportunities or risks for Avis Budget’s business. Make tactical recommendations to the Sales Manager as appropriate.

  • To support and positively influence team and ABG company culture.

  • To proactively work to develop trans-Tasman AU/NZ accounts via a regional approach

What we’re looking for

  • Proven record of revenue growth and profit achievement in an account management role

  • Experience in sales account management or a similar role with knowledge and application of the strategic dimension of sales and managing key accounts

  • Ability to maintain existing business and identify opportunities for further growth

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and presentation skills to be able to build and maintain positive relationships and effectively deal with senior management both internally and externally.

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Beside the above we are looking for someone who can operate under minimal supervision, with a high degree of independence, initiative, and creative problem-solving skills. You will need to be well organised with attention to detail to handle multiple tasks in a pro-active way and always be looking to change / improve things to deliver customer satisfaction.
