Accounting Manager

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are searching for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team situated in Hillsboro, Oregon. The scope of this role is to oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, manage financial reporting deadlines, and coordinate audits in compliance with GASB standards. This role is based on a short-term contract and requires a high level of proficiency in financial reporting, GASB, and fund accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and review of Component Unit Financials and other relevant financial statements.
• Manage financial reporting deadlines, ensuring all reports are submitted in a timely manner.
• Coordinate audits, responding to inquiries, organizing meetings, and addressing questions related to GASB compliance.
• Act as a problem solver, independently answering complex questions and troubleshooting issues.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of GASB standards and Fund Accounting.
• Display technical knowledge of housing authority operations, including Housing Choice Vouchers and tax credit partnerships.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Yardi, HUD, and other relevant tools and systems.
• Adapt quickly to new systems and technologies.• Must hold a minimum of 7 years experience in a similar role or related field
• Proficiency in using Yardi software is required
• Experience with HUD regulations and compliance is necessary
• Must possess strong skills in financial reporting
• Knowledge of GASB accounting principles is essential
• Experience in Fund Accounting, particularly within non-profit organizations, is a must
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
• Must have strong leadership and team management abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Professional accounting certification, such as a CPA, is a plus.
