Job Description
Key Responsibilites and Duties Include:
Accurately diagnose, service, repair and maintain Heavy & Light/small diesel plant and equipment, and Heavy & Light Fleet in the workshop or in the field.
Inspect and report any defects of plant and ensure servicing, repairs and maintenance provided is to the manufacturer's specifications whilst maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
Apply theoretical, technical and procedural knowledge to diagnose, test, analyse, develop and design complex systems, equipment or procedures to manufacturers specifications in accordance with the relevant management plans and policies.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems and provide effective long lasting solutions.
Read and interpret schematic diagrams and drawings relating to plant and equipment.
Undertake hydraulic repairs, automotive electrical repairs and welding and fabricating using oxy, and both mig and arc welders and machining.
Provide machine, mechanical and maintenance induction training to plant operators and supervisors to ensure the safety, security and performance of the asset is understood and optimised.
Undertake inventory, schedule work and interpret and order parts and sundries required to be on hand to undertake maintenance and repairs.
Ensure strong and positive communication links are maintained with internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with the Fleet Services team members to achieve optimal results and share best practices with the view to improve traditional work practices.
