Production Worker

Programmed Skilled Workforce are currently seeking a Qualified Chefs to join our client located in Northern Suburbs of Melbourne

Our Client provides meal and catering services for the airline and passenger rail industries on a wholesale and retail basis. Positions are for an immediate start with availability on day shifts

What we need from you

• Qualification as a Chef by trade


• Vocational training in culinary and related hygiene course is highly desirable.


• Experience working in a bulk cooking environment is highly desirable


• Experience working in a food manufacturing department is preferable but not essential


• Good communication skills both verbal and written.


• Work experience in a large-scale kitchen production required

What you will be doing day to day

• Responsible for the preparation and cooking of food items according to approved specification and recipes. To ensure that food preparation is made on time within designated schedules


• Check all materials and foodstuff ensuring that they are used before spoilage


• Keep all food preparation areas clean at all times


• Supervising tasks being performed by Catering Assistants and unqualified chefs in designated section


• Maintain efficient sanitation services, garbage disposal and chilling systems that comply with the regulations and requirements of the Gate Gourmet HACCP plan


• Compile reports and documents as required


• Promote a safe work environment at all times.
