Job Description
The Visitor Information Centre is seeking a dedicated and customer focused individual to join their team as a Visitor Information Centre Officer. This parttime position involves working one day a week (Fridays) to provide a positive and welcoming experience for all visitors to the centre.
Visitor Information Centre Service
- Provide a high level of customer service to ensure visitors feel welcome and valued.
- Distribute accurate and up-to-date information to visitors.
- Promote tourism products within the Maranoa region to encourage longer stays.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the facility, including outdoor areas and toilets.
- Assist with counter sales and ensure cash handling is accurate and efficient.
- Collate and distribute weekly and monthly calendars of events to local accommodation and tourism stakeholders.
Customer Service and Administrative Functions
- Deliver high-quality telephone and face-to-face service to internal and external customers.
- Record business documents and correspondence in Council's record management system.
- Monitor and action customer requests in line with Council's Customer Service Charter.
- Collect and record tourism data, including daily visitor statistics and annual visitor surveys.
- Support the development of weekly, monthly, and annual tourism event calendars.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
- Attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic cash handling experience is an advantage.
