The Role
We currently require a highly driven and focused Maintenance Supervisor to join our Sydney Water team.
As part of this role, you will provide visible leadership and ensure the overall delivery of activities on a high-profile contract.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be a well organised and disciplined individual who is able to manage and lead the business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily operational support and technical advice to the Senior Maintenance Supervisor, Works Coordinator Planning and Operations team.
- Provide visible safety leadership and promote a reporting culture by via an active in field presence conducting regular worksite reviews, safety conversations and hazard/near miss reporting whilst communicating the business safety message directly to the workforce.
- Provide daily operational direction, support and technical advice to internal and external customers.
- Ensure annual and monthly programmed maintenance plans are managed and delivered in accordance with business and statutory requirements.
- Attend and contribute to regular leadership and operation meetings.
- Provide direction to ensue KPIs goals are continually met.
- Lead, mentor and ensure all staff are supported in their personal development goals.
- Contribute to the resource allocation by collaboratively working with the planning team and Sydney Water Operations to manage competing priorities.
- Provide guidance, development, mentoring and coaching to maintenance staff.
- Manage performance levels of staff and seek continuous opportunities to improve.
- Ensure all staff are adequately trained and certified to carry out their roles.
- Assist in managing incidents and high priority reactive maintenance work.
- Provide cover as required for 24 x 7 operational support.
- Reviews afterhours breakdowns for effectiveness of resolution
- Contribute to weekly reviews to identify opportunities of improvement.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum Trade certificate or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working on maintenance assets.
- Effective supervision and people management skills
- Knowledge of computer-based information systems and software applications such as Maximo and MS Office or similar
- Self-motivated, team member with ability to interact with all levels of management.
