Operations Manager - Maintenance Engineer

Our client specialises in the production of industrial materials and coatings for industries such as oil / gas, water, and marine infrastructure.
They are seeking an experienced Operations Manager / Maintenance Engineer to take responsibility for providing innovative and cost-effective processes and solutions required to manufacture their products. This includes designing and developing new and improved manufacturing techniques, processes, and procedures. Additionally, the role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing preventative maintenance programs and compliance/regulatory inspections to mitigate unplanned downtime of all plant and equipment across manufacturing and site operations.
This role will be a mix of Operations, Maintenance, Reliability Engineering as well as a component of "hands on" diagnosis and maintenance of plant equipment to optimise efficiency and reduce contractor costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse workflows, optimise space/equipment, and improve efficiency using Six Sigma methodologies. Lead production teams to improve yield, reduce cycle time, and ensure timely, cost-effective product delivery.
- Maintenance & Compliance: Implement preventative maintenance programs, manage equipment repairs, and oversee critical spare parts inventory to minimize downtime.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor production quality, lead corrective actions, and ensure adherence to standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and project manage new equipment installations.
- Health & Safety: Enforce safety standards, ensure proper PPE usage, and maintain site housekeeping.
- Team Leadership: Develop team performance, manage staffing, and handle employee-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Degree, Diploma or Trade in Mechanical related field
- 7-10 years of manufacturing experience, Lean Six Sigma proficiency.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
