Provide personalised, woman-centered care to ensure optimal birthing outcomes for mothers and babies as a Registered Midwife with us at WSLHD.

What you'll be doing
Join us to make a real difference in maternity care! As a Registered Midwife, you'll be a key member of our maternity team, delivering personalised, woman-centered care to meet the unique needs and aspirations of each mother, ensuring the best birthing outcomes for both women and their babies.

  • Be a crucial part of our multidisciplinary maternity team, delivering personalized, woman-centered care.
  • Perform antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal interventions to support optimal birthing outcomes.
  • Coordinate and manage holistic care, ensuring appropriate consultations and referrals.
  • Collaborate effectively with women, families, and healthcare professionals for exceptional care.
  • Supervise and mentor less experienced staff while managing priorities in a dynamic clinical setting.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Midwife).

Selection Criteria:

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with the Registered Midwife National Competency Standards, Code of Ethics for Midwives, and Code of Professional Conduct for Midwives (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia).
  2. Recent midwifery experience including, antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care and lactation support.
  3. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology, written and verbal means; and sound interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
  4. An understanding of woman centred care and demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team.
  5. Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, delegate, and negotiate with others to deliver quality midwifery care.
  6. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise workload and deliver care with integrity and accountability.
