Job Description

Our specially designed Oak Park centre operates from 7:00am to 6:30pm and boasts natural play environments, open-plan rooms, abundant and age-approximate learning resources, separate playgrounds, and both indoor and outdoor spaces to cater to 95 children.

About you:

You’re an experienced Early Childhood Teacher with a passion for delivering high-quality care and an inclusive leadership style. Your Kindergarten programming is designed to prepare your class for school and empower our children as independent learners, nurturing their curiosity, resilience and self-awareness. Through engaging conversation with the children, you develop their inquisitive minds, laying the foundation for their learning journey with us.

Duties will include and not limited to:

  • Develop, weekly plans, and implement age-appropriate programs for children in care.
  • Provide programs and activities that reflect the children’s learning and growth.
  • Provide developmental progress reports as required
  • Plan, implement and evaluate programs which reflect the emerging skills, interests and developmental requirements of children
  • Seek and share best practice examples to improve the educational program.
  • Model effective application of pedagogy in teaching practice.
  • Deliver specific learning program and practice within long daycare and/or kindergarten services to prepare children for their first year of formal schooling.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of and adhering to legislation guidelines, policies and procedures pertaining to child protection
  • Ensure that child protection policy are adheres to by all team members
  • Ensure a high standard of hygiene is maintained in compliance with policies and procedures
  • Maintain ongoing communication with educators’ parents and caregivers including other services when required.
  • Support the Centre Director to ensure families and children especially those experiencing vulnerability can meaningfully participate within the program.
  • Support a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement.
  • Effectively lead and manage the room and resources and priorities and direct activities to maximise an effective learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and review of the Centre’s future growth.

You will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or an ACECQA approved equivalent
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Proficiency in EYLF and National Quality Standards
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Great personal presentation
  • Confidence and curiosity to build relationships with our families and the local community
  • Experience in delivering Kindergarten programs

Salary range on offer for this role is $40-$55 per hour.
