Are you an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator based in Portsmouth?
CMS2, a specialist equipment manufacturer supplying maritime atmosphere control systems and support services, are looking for a Coordinator to join the H&S team. CMS2 are part of the Science Group, an international science, engineering and technology (“SET”) business providing a range of services to the medical, defence, industrial, food & beverage and consumer sectors
As Health and Safety Coordinator, your role will be to support the Health and Safety Manager at the Portsmouth site. You will report to the Health and Safety Manager
Key Tasks:
- Working with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure risk assessments are in place and up to date
- Regular informal “walk around” and monthly Health and Safety Inspections around the site to ensure safe systems of work are being adhered to.
- A point of contact for Health and Safety questions.
- Reporing health and safety data (e.g. accident forms; near misses; outputs of walk arounds) to the Health and Safety Manager and management of resulting actions identified.
- With support from Health and Safety Manager, investigate accidents and incidents to find root causes and look to implement corrective actions.
- Support Health and Safety Manager in implementing and monitoring relevant Health and Safety policies and procedures, within the framework of the CMS2 Health and Safety Management System.
- Attending Quarterly Health and Safety meetings scheduled by the Health and Safety Manager.
- In conjunction with the Health and Safety Manager, monitoring Health and Safety training profiles for employees.
- Alongside the Health and Safety Manager and CMS2 Managers, promote an inclusive culture of Health and Safety in the business.
Essential skills needed:
- Experience or knowledge of a manufacturing site
- Knowledge of Health and Safety systems in any environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Pro active approach and ability to work on their own initiative
Desirable:
- Nebosh or IOSH qualification
- Degree or HND
Role travel requirements:
- Some travel to other Science Group offices in the UK may occasionally be required.
Other requirements:
- Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK
- Candidates must have passed UK security clearance to Security Check level or be able to obtain this level.
- To gain SC clearance you will normally have had to have been a resident in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.
