Job Description

Job Title: CAD Technician

Type: Permanent

Start Date: ASAP

Location: UK/Europe

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed IT/AV or Security drawings, including floor plans, schematics, cabinet layouts, density charts, detail drawings, and isometric diagrams
  • Provide CAD and software support across all business sectors
  • Apply predefined design/CAD standards to architectural drawings for multiple projects
  • Collaborate as part of a CAD team based in London
  • Work closely with the Production and Design Teams to ensure project requirements are met
  • Communicate effectively with key team members and stakeholders
  • Manage project changes while meeting tight deadlines across multiple projects
  • Stay flexible and committed to achieving all project deadlines
  • Liaise with internal staff and external companies, providing accurate and timely information


Required Knowledge/Skills

  • AutoCAD: At least 3 years of experience and proficiency, including working with AutoCAD up to version 2020
  • Experience creating IT, AV, or Security drawings
  • Experience following design instructions and working with markups for one or more of the following technologies:
  • Passive Infrastructure
  • Audio Visual Systems
  • Physical Security
  • Experience participating in coordination meetings
  • Experience with clash detection software is desirable
  • Proficient with Revit 2018 or later versions
  • Familiarity with BIM 360 and Bluebeam is desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • A proactive, self-starter attitude
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage high workloads and work well under pressure
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and deadline-driven


Key Relationships

  • Work closely with CAD Technicians, Consultants, PMO, Delivery Managers, and external project teams
  • Provide support, knowledge, and take responsibility for specific tasks within the project
  • Liaise with all internal and external teams to ensure accurate and efficient information flow
