About this role
The Design Manager is responsible for the design, co-ordination and creation of assets and materials to support the sales and execution of Banijay Kids & Family brands, along with overseeing approval of licensed product. This is a newly created position and will sit within the Brands and Marketing Team.
The role will directly report to the Global Brand and Marketing Director and requires an individual who possesses a full understanding of how creative assets will be used across all parts of the business, and consumer-facing products, services and experience.
Job responsibilities
- Create and deliver compelling creative brand materials and assets for Banijay
- Kids and Family (corporate marketing, brand launches and marketing campaigns etc.)
- Collaborate with the marketing and licensing teams to provide graphics and brand decks/PowerPoint templates as needed
- Manage product approval throughout the process including
- Providing creative feedback on product developments from licensees
- Re-design concepts submitted by licensees on a case-by-case basis
- Final product approval
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all our key brands and how they can be visually translated into a variety of products and experiences
- Create visual concepts and layouts through either sketches or digital mock-ups to help sell them into key stakeholders
- Provide brand guardianship and set high-quality creative standards for all brand execution
- Liaise with production teams to monitor asset deliveries and schedules
- Give creative direction and notes on 3D graphic assets from production/content partners to be used for marketing and consumer products use
- Partner with external designer and agencies to develop new style guides for our licensing and brand partners; create design direction, mood boards and working files for licensees
- Be across the competitive landscape to ensure the brand execution, has a unique and differentiated presence within the entertainment industry
- Present work to the team and key stakeholders throughout the business in a clear and impactful way
- Lead and present creative assets during kick-off meetings with license
Knowledge and skills
- A minimum of 5 years’ creative experience in an entertainment company, licensing agency, or toy company
- High proficiency in all key design packages/software (Adobe CC suite) and proficient in PowerPoint (experience with Mediabox a plus, but not necessary)
- Proven track record of delivering creative excellence for kids’ brands, pushing boundaries, refreshing heritage properties and understanding the commercial opportunities
- Confident decision maker and clear communicator
- Highly organized and thrives on tight or urgent deadlines
- Ability to create visualise ideas, whether through sketch or digitally
- Ability to multi-task and react to the high volume and demands of the role and the brand portfolio
- Good network of relevant freelancers/agencies
- Passionate about Kids’ brands
Reporting To: Global Brand and Marketing Director
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 6pm
