Position
They are currently recruiting a HGV Class 1 Driver to join their Transport Team based in Stoke on Trent Staffordshire.
Main Duties
Delivery and collection of customers freight as assigned by the Transport Office to and from various locations and regions
Multi-drop delivery and collections
Supervise the loading of your vehicle so that products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage
Ensure the correct goods and quantity of goods are loaded and unloaded
Plan you day and route in the most cost and operationally effective manner
Present, process and return customers Delivery Notes
Secure and return Proof of Delivery advice notes (POD) electronic and/or manual
Inform the Transport Office of any delays to or whilst at work
Maintain your vehicle (inside and out) in a clean and very tidy condition
Refuel your vehicle daily in accordance with Company Procedure
Due care and attention to other road users and members of the public through safe and courteous driving.
Wear the required PPE as designated by site signage.
Report all accidents and near misses
Have a clear understanding of the Company's Policies and read the Drivers Handbook

Experience / Skills
- Experience as an HGV Class 1 driver
- Experience trunking hub to hub (pallet force)
- RHIDES card holder would be an added advantage but not required
- Clean Class1 (C+E) Licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Current Digital Tacho Card
- Vehicle weights and legal limits
- Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive Regulations
- Road Traffic Laws
- Construction and Use Regulations
- Freight container and Port of Felixstowe operational experience an advantage but not required
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Effective communicator
- Ability to accept responsibility and carry out responsible tasks
- Computer literate

- £32,058 per annum.
