Job Description:
Soliant Education is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school district in Oakland, CA. The teacher will work with students with varying special needs, providing instruction tailored to their unique learning styles. The Special Education Teacher will collaborate with other educators, staff, and parents to create a positive learning environment and help students achieve their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) based on students' needs and goals.
- Provide specialized instruction in small groups and one-on-one settings to meet diverse learning needs.
- Adapt and modify curriculum and teaching strategies to acmodate students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure inclusion and support in mainstream classrooms.
- Monitor and document student progress toward academic and behavioral goals.
- Utilize various assessment tools to track student performance and adjust instructional methods as necessary.
- municate regularly with parents, administrators, and related service providers to coordinate support services.
- Promote a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued.
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and other classroom management strategies.
- Stay updated on best practices and legal regulations regarding special education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid California Special Education teaching credential (required).
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a K-12 setting (preferred).
- Familiarity with IEP processes and special education laws (IDEA).
- Strong organizational and munication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing behavior support plans.
