The Organisation
The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is a global leader in promoting and supporting Civil Engineering as a key profession that is vital to society. Within ICE, the ICET (ICE Training) division focuses on delivering first class professional and specialist training for civil engineers, project managers and construction professionals. As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we are seeking an experienced Training Development Manager to manage and grow our ICET portfolio.
The Role
As the ICE Training Development Manager, you will be instrumental in managing and expanding the ICET training portfolio, ensuring alignment with market demands and strategic objectives. You will oversee the complete product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring commercial success and operational excellence. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders, manage diverse stakeholders and drive innovative training solutions on a global scale.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with the Learning Solution Development Lead to develop a robust product roadmap to support business growth.
- Conduct market research to support new product development initiatives across the ICET portfolio.
- Manage relationships with ICET tutors and subject-matter experts to develop new content and maintain existing assets.
- Identify and launch new products that align with business goals and strategy.
- Support marketing efforts for new product launches.
- Ensure all training products and assets are up-to-date and relevant.
- Provide escalation support to the Operations team when needed.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with subject-matter experts, industry partners and internal teams.
- Monitor product performance and collaborate with the cross functional teams to meet commercial targets.
- Contribute strategic ideas to the ICET business plan.
- Manage budgets and expenditures for product development, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Determine product pricing in collaboration with the Head of Learning Solutions and Events.
What We're Looking For in You
- In-depth knowledge of the full product development lifecycle.
- Proven ability to assess market needs and determine product viability.
- Strong background in training design and product launch.
- Excellent project management skills with a focus on time, quality and budget.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and launching training products in a commercial environment.
- Experience managing subject-matter experts and handling commercial negotiations.
- Prior experience in online training development.
- Understanding of the engineering sector is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience of writing effective business cases for new product ideas (desirable)
Essentials
- Degree level or equivalent experience is essential.
- Proven track records delivering commercially successful products.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with a proactive and strategic mindset.
Salary & Benefits
- £42K-£45K PA
- Hybrid working - working 2 days/week in office, C.London/Remote
