Commercial Lawyer - 4 PQE - Global Impact Led Business

Our Client

A global purpose led business is looking to add a dynamic commercial and corporate lawyer with strong commercial contracting experience to their legal team. You will support the business on non-transactional work. My client works across infrastructure/technology/energy and as such experience in such areas would be a bonus.

My client is looking for a seasoned corporate lawyer ideally with extensive and proven contracts experience and is someone who will be motivated by the client's development mission and ideally demonstrate some commitment to their social goals.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate's work will include (but not be limited to):

• Negotiation of commercial contracts (including information technology, real estate, and travel supplier contracts), consultancy agreements, non-disclosure agreements etc.
• Maintenance and management of commercial contract precedents and templates, including updating for legal, policy or regulatory changes
• Working with Procurement to ensure supplier contracts are managed appropriately
• Advising the business on data protection and Freedom of Information Act issues
• Supporting the Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel and Company Secretary on corporate matters and initiatives
• Managing intellectual property, including trademark issues and working with trademark agents to address potential infringements
• Overseeing the outsourcing of significant commercial matters and specialized tasks to external legal counsel
• Analysing and reporting on legal and regulatory changes, implementing appropriate business responses
• Facilitating the establishment of new offices, branches, and subsidiaries, including assessing risks and determining suitable corporate structures
• Drafting, maintaining, and advising on group policies, and sharing best practices through training and knowledge-building initiatives

Qualifications

• 4+ PQE England and Wales Qualified Commercial Lawyer with training from a recognised City firm
• Recent in-house corporate experience working on commercial contract negotiation and management
• Broader experience of data protection issues, issues arising from activities in developing markets and working on company registration and maintenance in the UK and abroad is preferred
• Attention to detail, strong project and time-management skills
