Job Description

I've taken on a new role with a specialist banking client in their high performing compliance advisory function. This is a truly excellent opportunity to work closely with the Head of Retail Compliance and focus on private banking transactions.


Your Role:

As a Compliance Adviser for our lending solutions, you’ll play a vital role in shaping compliance practices within the Private Client segment. You’ll be part of a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional client experiences while ensuring they meet the highest regulatory standards.


What You’ll Do:

  • Offer Strategic Guidance: Deliver insightful and timely compliance advice on a range of lending products, ensuring the approach aligns with regulatory expectations while meeting client needs.
  • Manage Regulatory Risk: Proactively identify potential compliance challenges and develop strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring they prioritize fair treatment and positive outcomes for our clients.
  • Engage with Governance: Represent compliance interests in key forums and contribute to comprehensive risk assessments, influencing decisions that affect business direction.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with teams to develop effective remedial actions for compliance issues and enhance internal policies and procedures.
  • Stay Ahead of Change: Monitor industry regulations and communicate critical updates, empowering teams to adapt quickly and effectively.
  • Enhance Learning and Development: Review and refine training materials to ensure staff are well-equipped to uphold compliance standards in their day-to-day activities.
  • Network and Influence: Represent the Bank at industry meetings, building relationships that enhance our reputation and understanding of market trends.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience That Counts: Proven background in compliance advisory within the lending sector, with a solid understanding of relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of FCA regulations, particularly MCOB, CONC, Consumer Duty, and PRA guidelines.
  • Client-Centric Mindset: A strong commitment to delivering exceptional client outcomes through thoughtful compliance practices.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to articulate complex regulatory concepts clearly and engagingly to a variety of audiences.
  • Detail-Oriented Approach: Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical skills to navigate regulatory landscapes effectively.
  • Problem Solver: A proactive mindset, capable of making informed decisions and driving solutions that support our strategic objectives.
