Commercial Litigation Lawyer (BVI-based)

This prestigious law firm is looking for an experienced commercial litigation lawyer to join its thriving BVI office. You will become part of a small, highly respected team, advising an international client base on a broad range of complex commercial, insolvency and financial services disputes. Joining as an experienced Associate, you will be encouraged to develop your skillset by taking a lead role on matters and play a full part in client management and marketing efforts. It is perhaps the ideal opportunity for someone with the drive and ambition to progress their career, but who also craves a complete change of lifestyle outside of the office.

British Virgin Islands

For some, the BVI is the pick of the Caribbean. A mountainous, rain forested interior surrounded by picture-postcard bays, it is probably not far from the idyllic image that might cross your mind when you ponder whether there is ‘more to life’. It’s not for everyone. You will need to be comfortable with a slower pace, you will see its remoteness as a gift rather than an inconvenience, and you will be the sort of person who gets more out of sailing, diving, or relaxing on the beach than you do from the buzz of city life. Process

Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates negotiable. Our clients will assist with visas and relocation, including temporary accommodation on arrival.

Package

Competitive USD salary with a low tax-rate (c8%). Benefits, bonus, and relocation package (flights + temporary accommodation on arrival + expenses allowance).

Requirements

To secure a role in the BVI you will need to be admitted as a Solicitor or Barrister in the UK or BVI. This role is likely to suit someone with at least 3 years’ PQE and with broad experience of complex commercial disputes from a good UK/equivalent law firm or commercial/chancery chambers.
