The role - Academic Support Mentor
* Monday-Friday
* Long-term, full-time
* Classroom / academic support role
* Secondary year groups
This Academic Support Mentor will be ideal for candidates with relatable backgrounds and experience e.g. Youth work, tutoring, mentoring, coaching and previous TA / LSA experience.
You must be confident with supporting vulnerable SEN students with social and emotional mental health, ADHD, and/or other special education needs or mental health areas.
You must be able to commit to a full-time role and be confident with supporting students with a mixture of behaviour and emotional challenges. You will be offered training throughout the academic year being part of this great team at the PRU.
The school - Academic Support Mentor
This PRU is located in the borough of Lewisham, south east London. The PRU is an inclusive and high performing setting supporting secondary year groups with their learning journeys by providing creative, vocational courses and academic specific support.
The school is located near great transport links such as a DLR and overground station as well as great bus routes.
The students that attend this PRU have been permanently or temporarily excluded from mainstream education as they need the extra support and positive guidence. The are seeking positive, resiliant and academic support professionals to work with their students on a long-term basis
