Job Description & Requirements

Night Shift: 3x12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Requirements:
• ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Every other weekend required
• Accepts first-time travelers
Work Environment:
• Patient ratios: 4-5 (based on patient acuity)
• Floating required: Yes
• Scrubs: Navy Blue

14. Management of cardiac drips (no titration)
15. CVA (Stroke) care
16. Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac)
17. External CPAP/BIPAP
18. High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
19. Interpretation of ABGs
20. Non-invasive airway management
21. Oxygen face masks
Special Procedures/Unit Details:
1. Peritoneal Dialysis
2. Telemetry: RN to interpret and document rhythm
3. Non-titratable Drips: Amiodarone, Diltilizem Cardiazem, Amiodarone & Lasix
4. Heparin: Heparin drip nursing protocol
5. Code Team Responders: recorders and time keepers
6. Stroke certified unit
Patient Ratio Details:
• Typically 1:4, but RN should expect 1:5 based on acuity and downgrades
• If floated to non-tele med surg unit, patient ratio is 1:6
Unit Admissions:
• Admits from NWH ED
• Direct admits from Grace Medical Center
• Transfers from non-tele units
