Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Manager

Reporting To: Finance Director

Salary Band: Full-time, fixed term contract – Salaried

Location: This role will be predominantly remote based. Travel to other company sites may be required on limited occasions

Job Purpose:

As part of a highly successful business, this is a pivotal role requiring knowhow, energy, and ambition.

The role will be responsible for developing a best-in-class procurement function, sourcing sustainable, cost-effective raw materials from international markets for the company’s four sites in the UK and Ireland, including its Head Quarters based in Larne. The role will have overall responsibility for group facilities management and procurement.

Role Responsibilities

*

Develop and execute a raw materials sourcing strategy that is aligned to the business strategy. This will include identification and delivery of meaningful cost-saving opportunities and fostering deep market intelligence within the Purchasing team to optimise the supply chain.

Deliver timely and evidence-based information to guide and support the right business decision making

*

Responsible for the company’s approved list of leased vehicles and cost-effective fuel sourcing options

*

Identify risks in continuity of supply and market volatility and put in place appropriate mitigation strategies

*

Contribute to the development and delivery of the company strategic plan. Prepare and present a monthly report for the executive board.

*

Development of a centralised procurement function for selected departmental overhead spend to drive synergies, quality and reduce costs.

*

Develop a reliable, cost-effective framework of hauliers operating UK and Ireland wide, setting the standard for industry leading service to the customer base.

*

Support the delivery of the company’s energy objectives, including ownership of near-term procurement and contributing to longer-term decarbonisation planning.

*

Enhance systems and processes to advance the company’s MRP automation, delivering the right quantity and quality of raw materials on time to the manufacturing facility.

*

Have the ability and confidence to make strategic and pragmatic decisions using experience, judgement and gaining input from key stakeholders.

*

Collaborate with supply chain teams across site materials planning, inventory, and logistics to achieve customer service levels and OTIF targets.

*

Support the company and internal stakeholders in delivering high quality capital expenditure solutions to maximise return on investment and long-term asset life.

Criteria:

Education-

Essential:

- Demonstrable continuous improvement skills/credentials using recognised frameworks on process improvement.

Desirable:

- Graduate with CIPS/MCIPS qualifications.

Experience-

Essential:

- A minimum of 5 years’ experience gained at management level.

- Experience in managing incoming supply chains for a manufacturing environment using international procurement markets.

- Demonstrable experience of overseeing and processing MRP.

Desirable:

- Experience in Microsoft Navision / Business Central

- Strong Excel skills

Circumstances-

Essential:

- Able to work flexible hours as required and to travel as required to ensure business needs are met

- Able to work away from home if required and possess a full current driving licence
