Full-Time (PRU/SEMH School)
Position: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Southwark SE1
Working Hours: 8:30am - 4pm (Monday to Friday)
Contract: Full-time
Salary: £90-£100
Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH)? Do you have the skills and resilience to work in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) or SEMH school?
About the Behaviour Support Assistant Role:
We are seeking experienced and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to work in a dynamic and challenging environment with young people who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. You will play a crucial role in helping these students overcome barriers to learning and promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Behaviour Support Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
* Providing one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs
* Implementing behaviour management strategies to de-escalate challenging situations
* Working closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored support plans
* Helping students develop coping strategies, resilience, and social skills
* Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment
* Supporting the re-engagement of students with their education
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (experience in PRUs, SEMH schools, or similar settings is highly desirable)
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A proactive and positive attitude, with a genuine desire to support vulnerable young people
* A validEnhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
