Key Responsibilities: Risk Assessment: Evaluate commercial insurance applications and assess risk factors. Policy Issuance: Develop, negotiate, and issue policies in line with company standards. Stakeholder Interaction: Build strong relationships with brokers and internal teams. Compliance: Ensure underwriting practices align with regulatory and company guidelines. Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging risks. Claims Support: Collaborate with the claims team on underwriting-related issues. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of underwriting decisions. Customer Service: Address inquiries and concerns to ensure client satisfaction and retention. What Were Looking For: Experience: 2-5 years in commercial underwriting, preferably in short-term insurance. Education: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent. Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., NQF Level 4, RE5) are a plus. Skills: Strong analytical skills, communication abilities, and a deep understanding of commercial insurance products.
