Job Description

PURPOSE OF JOB


• Responsible for the provision of my client's franchise obligations for Infrastructure Protection to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of the railway.
• Manage stakeholder relationships
• Manage the documentation review process to ensure timely response according to my client's processes. This will involve close liaison with all departments.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES



• The support of complex multi-disciplined projects in accordance my client's standards.
• Delivery of any project or part of project in line with the Office of Rail Regulation Licence (Non Mainline), Health & Safety legislation, including the provisions of the Health & Safety at Work Act, the Transport & Works Act, and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
• Actively manage client relationships, 3rd party and Contractor relationships and work closely with other departments within the business to ensure engagement in all IP project works.
• Manage the documentation review process to ensure timely response according to the WoRM. This will involve close liaison with Assurance and Engineering departments.
• Identify and manage resource requirements to support IP project work.
• Attend site inspections and meetings as a representative of my client.
• Deputise for the Lead Asset Protection Engineer.


GENERAL SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

You must be familiar with safety legislation that is relevant to your post and comply with the necessary statutory requirements. This will include the Health & Safety at Work Act, and supporting regulations.
You undertake to:
• comply with legislation that is specific to your post;
• comply with all safety related rules, policies, directives and procedures authorised by senior management;
• take reasonable care of yourself and other people who may be affected by your actions and omissions at work;
Actively support my client's safety management principles.
In addition, you must not interfere with or misuse anything provided for your own health, safety and welfare. My client operates an Environmental Management System (EMS) certified to ISO 14001 to ensure we minimise our environmental impact and maximise our resource efficiency.
All my client's employees must ensure that they prevent pollution, reduce waste and improve resource and operational efficiencies by:
• Preventing pollution incidents by following operational controls and procedures,
• Reporting environmental incidents or near misses through the companies incident reporting system
• Reporting or suggestion environmental improvements opportunities to their line managers or the HSQE department when they identify them.



ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS


• Have experience of project management and demonstrate sound commercial awareness – Essential.
• Be fully conversant with Health and Safety and other relevant Legislation concerning work on or adjacent to an operating railway - Essential.
• Be educated to degree level in civil engineering - Essential.
• Have a background in a Projects, Engineering or Construction environment – Essential.
• Previous experience of delivering multi-disciplined projects in a rail environment - Essential.
• Good inter-personal skills for stakeholder management - Essential.
