Job Description

Our client is looking for a Technical Operations Engineer to join their team in South London

Key Responsibilities

  • Focus on fixing and improving how products are overhauled or repaired
  • Create and update clear instructions on how to repair or overhaul products
  • Create technical job packs to track what is done during each repair job
  • Develop tools and procedures to make tasks like taking things apart, cleaning, painting, and putting them back together safer and more efficient
  • Design equipment and tools needed to test and assemble products
  • Write guidelines for testing products and programming testing equipment
  • Provide daily support for new projects and help improve the process for mass production
  • Work with different teams like production management, project management, and engineering to deliver the right tools and processes for production
  • Regularly review the production process to find the best methods and reduce wasted time, tools, and materials
  • Lead or support improvement projects with the workshop teams using lean production methods
  • Help with other production-related tasks when needed
  • Perform vibration analysis on products and equipment
  • Assist in setting up processes and technical requirements to support projects and production

Professional Experience & Education

  • A degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (other qualifications like HNC/HND are okay if you have lots of hands-on experience)
    • Experience with repair and overhauling equipment is a plus
    • Strong practical engineering skills
    • Knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and write technical documents
    • Fluent in both technical and conversational English
    • Good communication skills for working with both internal teams and customers
