Category Manager

JSS Search have partnered with an NHS organisation to recruit a Category Manager within their Capital/Major Projects team.

Category Manager - Capital Projects

Salary c. £62,000 per annum

3 days a week in the office (Surrey / SW London)

Role:

• Manage the pipeline of upcoming capital projects alongside stakeholder groups
• Build & manage excellent relationships with stakeholders, acting as a trusted procurement advisor
• Select the most suitable/appropriate procurement route for each project (FTS, non-FTS, mini competition etc)
• Autonomously undertake procurement activity across construction, IT, clinical equipment and other capital items. Value ranging from £100k - £50m
• Deliver high value & complex non-capital procurement projects from cradle-to-grave

Essential requirements:

• Experience of running competitive procurements (tenders & mini-competitions) in the UK public sector
• Understanding of the UK Public Procurement Rules (currently PCR2015)
• Experience of direct awarding contracts against frameworks
• Experience of drafting contracts (eg populating the schedules and key variables in a set of Ts & Cs)
• Excellent communicator (understanding, explaining, discussing etc)
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders
• Analytical, detail-oriented mindset
• Self-starter
