Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
* Responsible for resolution of the various tax issues/filings of the Midway Products Group of companies as well as the monthly accounting and financial statements for the Midway corporate office.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Responsible for preparation of all Federal, State, & Local Tax returns
* Research & advise as to any uncertain tax positions
* Research & advise on tax credits taken by, or available to the company
* Create memos to ownership regarding various tax items
* Fixed Asset classification review
* Assist in audits as required
* Corporate monthly accounting and financial statement preparation
* Responsible for year-end 1099 analysis & preparation
* Assemble company forecasts & projections
* Assist in budget controls & analysis
* Complete correspondence with IRS, state, and local governments concerning tax and penalty issues.
* Preparation of quarterly/annual consolidated financial statements
* Review/Submission of monthly sales tax data
* Assist in check signing for accounts payable
* Other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred with 2-3 years experience
* Knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws
* CPA required
SPECIAL SKILLS
* Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and Tax Preparation Software (Creative Solutions: Ultra Tax)
