Summary: The Sanitation Technician is the foremost team member in the food safety category. This role is responsible for ensuring that the equipment, utensils, trays, and production areas meet the highest level of food and supplement manufacturing standards. This position is also responsible for maximizing time by being efficient and precise with equipment cleaning, reducing change over times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Following cGMPs (current Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Familiar and compliant with LOTO (lock out, tag out) requirements
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment and components for cleaning and sanitation
  • ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) swabbing, testing, interpretation, and recording of results
  • Use of litmus paper, temperature probe and pH probe and meter
  • Understanding of Allergen, contamination control, and ATP Swabbing
  • Reading the MMR (Master Manufacturing Record)
  • Reading, Understanding, and Execution of the Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Completion of the sanitation portion of Batch Production Records
  • Waste disposal
  • Operation of CIP (clean-in-place) equipment and tray washing equipment
  • Post-cleaning equipment inspection
  • Cleaning all production areas
  • Chemical mixing & handling
  • Familiar and compliant disposal
  • Complete various trainings such as corporate, job specific, and cross training
  • Checking instrument calibration
  • Pre-use instrument verification
  • Maintenance & Calibration work order creation
  • Safety inspections
  • Daily & weekly tasks such as mopping, refilling PPE (personal protective equipment), self-inspections (facility)
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications/Education/Experience:
  • Previous food, pharmaceutical, and/or dietary supplement sanitation experience preferred
  • Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
