Job title: Procurement Officer

Location: Havant (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 month maternity cover

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 DOE

This position reports to the Procurement & Contracts Manager, the individual will be authorised to negotiate and make binding decisions on behalf of the company, subject to appropriate approvals and serves as a primary interface with internal customers and external suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and undertake due diligence on potential suppliers.
• Gather requirements, issue, and analyse Request for Quotes (RFQ's)
• Participate and lead as appropriate planning and approval process for negotiation.
• Prepare and complete negotiations within approved limits and in a timely manner.
• Participate and lead as appropriate fact finding, negotiation and follow up activity.
• Negotiate nonstandard agreements with support as appropriate.
• Assist with or make sourcing recommendations as appropriate and identify risks.
• Finalise and place Purchase Orders in accordance with the Acquisition Procedures and systems.

Requirements:

• Previous Procurement experience ideally within the Defence sector.
• Experience of negotiating terms and conditions.
• Managing contracts particularly telecoms/ datacentre.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Proven communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
• Experience of working with SAP is preferred.
• CIPS qualified desirable.
