As a Roofing Mechanic at Aspen Roofing Services, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of roofing systems on residential and commercial buildings. Working as part of a skilled roofing crew, you'll perform tasks efficiently and safely, ensuring all roofing projects meet high-quality standards. Your role will involve working at heights, handling roofing materials, and operating specialized tools and equipment to complete installations and repairs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Install various types of roofing systems, including asphalt shingles, metal roofing, and flat roofing materials.
• Repair and replace damaged roofing components such as shingles, tiles, flashing, and membranes.
• Conduct roof inspections to assess existing conditions and identify areas requiring repair or replacement.
• Diagnose roofing issues, including leaks, cracks, or structural damage, and propose effective solutions.
• Safely handle roofing materials, load and unload materials from trucks, and transport them to work areas.
• Prepare roofing materials for installation, cutting shingles, flashing, and underlayment to size.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and roofing equipment safely and efficiently, including nail guns, saws, drills, and hoists.
• Maintain tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as harnesses, safety glasses, and hard hats.
• Work collaboratively with the roofing crew to meet project deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients.
• Provide courteous and responsive customer service throughout the duration of roofing projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Legally authorized to work in the US.
• Valid driver's license is a plus, but not required.
• Reliable transportation to and from Peabody, MA.
• Proficiency in installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of roofing systems.
• Knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and blueprints.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and roofing equipment.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of roofing experience with increasing skills and responsibilities.
• Ability to lead a small crew and complete work independently is a plus.
• Experience with steep slope and low slope roofing is a plus.
• Experience with shingles, rubber, slate, and metal work/gutters is beneficial, though not required for consideration.

Physical Requirements:

• Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labor, work at heights, and withstand exposure to various weather conditions.
• Ability to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization's physical premises.
