Job Role: Attendance & Welfare Officer

Location: Bolton

Qualiteach is currently recruiting for an experienced attendance & welfare officer to work at a local secondary school in Bolton.

The role will start on 07/10/2024 and is offered on a permanent basis, employed directly by the school. The position is based over 5 days - 30 hours per week with an early finish on a Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

* Seek to improve the attendance of students at the School.

* Work alongside other pastoral colleagues, Deputy Headteachers, Assistant Headteachers and Key Stage 3 & 4 Co-ordinators to plan and implement strategies that will improve the behaviour, attendance, and attainment of individual and targeted groups of students.

* Attend meetings with parents / carers and multi-agency meetings when appropriate.

* Monitor and analyse attendance data daily to identify areas of concern and act accordingly to improve the figures.

* Follow the First Day Calling Procedure to comply with government guidelines.

* Check registers for errors and messages and liaise with the school staff regarding any unknown absences from lessons.

* Analyse absence data from each teaching session on Lesson Monitor, identifying unexplained absences and checking Home Calls record.
