Job Description

Our site in York is on the look out for a skilled and dynamic Engineering Team Leader to join our team and help drive our operations forward.


You will lead a team of Engineers to deliver the engineering strategy, ensuring all PPM & corrective action work is completed, ensuring that the plant runs efficiently, effectively and safely at all times and that opportunities for improvement are continuously identified and implemented.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Use of CMMS system (Holistech) highlighting required modifications for the PPMs to the Asset Care Manager
  • Adhering to and improving shift-based engineering KPI’s.
  • Lead the shift teams to ensure the site KPI’s are achieved.
  • Shift engineering develop the engineering team to ensure they achieve the goals and targets and conduct regular 1-2-1 meetings.
  • Lead specific engineering framework meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with all required stakeholders across the production team and the engineering department.
  • Contractor control including permit control and RAMS vetting.
  • Be an active influence on building our information database of equipment in the Engineering shared drive.
  • Will be accountable for compliance to defined workshop housekeeping and standards.
  • Deputising for Asset Care Manager
  • Ensure all repairs corrective actions & PPMs are completed to a high standard.
  • Ensure engineering shift team are upskilled in line with development and legislative practices


Knowledge / Skills / Experience:

  • Structured and practical engineering training (e.g., apprenticeship/HNC/degree).
  • Knowledge of CI process and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience of management in an FMCG environment is a preference.
  • H&S/Food Safety systems & legislation knowledge e.g., IOSH – able to ensure a safe working environment.
  • IT and PC knowledge – able to use widespread functions within relevant software.
  • Ability to be able to work alone, or as part of a team with the ability to work quickly and under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation
  • An aptitude to develop new skills.


Additional information:

Salary: £49,164.33 per annum

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Shifts: 6am till 2pm and 2pm till 10pm (Monday to Friday)
