Managing Surveyor

Right now, we are looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join Chartway Civil Engineering on a permanent contract out of our offices in Maidstone, Kent.

About The Role…

As our Managing Surveyor, you will have responsibility for the commercial work stream including surveyors, you will lead, coach and develop the team to meet targets and achieve success, as well as ensure that the Company’s strategic commercial objectives are met, as well as being responsible for the businesses financial cost control, budgeting and forecasting for the allocated projects.

You will be responsible for implementing commercial strategies that reflect the objectives and priorities of the company, maximising opportunities for profit, revenue generation and sustainable growth. You’ll be tasked with setting, managing and monitoring financial targets and budget development, as well as monitoring subcontractor and supplier performance against programmes and forecasts.

You’ll take responsibility for Construction Surveying duties including budget preparation, cost to completes, authorisation of subcontractor procurement, payments and claims, and advise the wider team on Technical Solutions, assist the technical team with cost at design stage.

You will be able to utilise your first-rate communication and organisational skills, and your ability to understand and manipulate complex financial models will ensure you are successful in this role.

You’ll come from a similar position preferably with previous Civil Engineering experience, with a thorough understanding of Estimating & Surveying, and a specific and in-depth knowledge of JCT/ NEC Contracts.
