Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Head of Operations, to lead a pioneering team on their large-scale manufacturing site! The Head of Operations will play a vital role, in promoting best practice and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations on site and setting up the operational strategy to develop efficiency & drive performance. They will lead the manufacturing team to achieve the company goals by implementing continuous improvement tools and driving change!

Roles & Responsibilities of Head of Operations:

  • The ability to demonstrate managerial experience within a complex manufacturing environment, working closely with the rest the Senior leaders from other departments such as Supply Chain, Quality, Health and Safety and other Senior Leadership Team members.
  • Showcase organisational skills including efficient planning and implementation of systems and procedures, including lean / continuous improvement activities, health and safety, and quality systems.
  • Ensure the compliance with specifications, deadlines and budgets, achievement of project goals and compliance with safety, environmental, health and quality standards and project reporting.
  • To plan, co-ordinate and manage the OPEX / CAPEX budget, to align with technical projects for the site.
  • Leadership and people management skills and the ability to build, motivate, develop and improve the team culture.
  • The ability to implement structured problem-solving techniques, provide solutions and delegate responsibility.


Qualifications required for Head of Operations:

  • Hold a degree in relevant Engineering discipline (or equivalent).
  • The ability to demonstrate vast industry experience, highlighting production or operations management in a lean manufacturing environment with the ability to demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience of Leadership and Management of a mixed skilled team.
  • Knowledge and Understanding from a Chemistry / Process Background
