Job Description

Role Overview: As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and driving cost efficiency within the organization. You will manage the budgeting process, oversee costing operations, and work closely with senior management to ensure the company's financial objectives are met. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards (IFRS). Provide detailed analysis on variances and financial performance. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the preparation of the annual budget and rolling forecasts, including financial models and scenario planning. Provide insights into cost trends and support strategic financial planning. Cost Control: Implement robust cost control measures across the organization, ensuring operational efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities are identified and acted upon. Inventory Management: Ensure proper accounting for inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Oversee the costing of inventory and monitor this impact on the financial statements. Profitability Analysis: Conduct profitability and margin analysis on various product lines, projects, and business units. Provide insights and recommendations to improve profitability. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the companys cash flow, ensuring liquidity is maintained to support business operations. Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with local and international financial standards and regulations. Assist with external audits and ensure audit readiness. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and development. Operational Support: Work closely with the operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to support cost-effective decision-making and process improvements. Requirements: BCom Honours Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CIMA qualification (or in progress) is essential. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a finance role within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and methodologies (standard costing, variance analysis). Driven and results-oriented , with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Experience in managing audits and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
