This involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing risk, and driving operational excellence in payment operations across all relevant payment rails (including, but not limited to, CHAPS, SWIFT, SEPA, FPS, BACS, ICS, and Open Banking).

Coordinate with compliance and legal teams to interpret regulatory requirements and implement appropriate controls and measures to mitigate compliance risks.

  • Risk Management - Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the payments platform, including operational, financial, and reputational risks. Develop and maintain risk registers, risk assessment frameworks, and mitigation plans to manage risks effectively and ensure business continuity.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting - Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the performance and effectiveness of the payments platform, such as transaction processing time, error rates, and service availability. Prepare and present regular reports and dashboards to senior management and governance committees.

  • Stakeholder Engagement - Engage with internal stakeholders, including senior management, business units, and operational teams, to communicate governance policies, objectives, and initiatives, and gather feedback and insights. Represent the organisation in external forums, industry groups, and regulatory bodies, advocating for the organisation's interests and contributing to the development of industry standards and best practices.

  • Payment Scheme Governance - Support payment scheme managers in the management of relationships with payment scheme operators, such as Faster Payments, Bacs, CHAPS, ensuring compliance with scheme rules, requirements, and deadlines. Coordinate with internal teams to implement changes and enhancements to payment systems and services in accordance with scheme guidelines and industry standards, managing relevant attestation processes with the payment scheme operators.
